ColorVu is Hikvision’s technology for colour images at night, with high-sensitivity sensors, optics and supporting white light. AcuSense is its analytics for telling people and vehicles apart to cut false alarms. Many models combine both with smart hybrid light, which uses infrared and switches on white light only when someone is detected.
What each technology adds
| Technology | What it adds | Where it fits |
|---|---|---|
| ColorVu | Colour images at night, with more detail to identify clothing or vehicles. | Entrances, car parks, poorly lit façades. |
| AcuSense | Alerts only for people and vehicles; on some models, deterrent light and sound. | Perimeters, plots, areas with trees or traffic. |
| Smart hybrid light | Infrared by default and white light on detection. | Homes, where constant white light disturbs. |
| TandemVu | Two cameras in one: overview and tracking zoom. | Car parks, warehouses and large open spaces. |
How to choose for each point
- If identifying at night matters most, prioritise ColorVu and good positioning relative to light.
- If reliable alerts matter most, prioritise AcuSense and configure zones and schedules well.
- At home, smart hybrid light avoids disturbing neighbours with constant white light.
- In large spaces, a TandemVu or PTZ can replace several fixed cameras.
