Typical automations
- Leaving home, one button turns off the lights, lowers the blinds and switches off appliances that should not stay on.
- Blinds lower during the sunniest hours in summer to keep heat out.
- The electric water heater runs in the cheapest hours or on solar surplus.
- A phone alert if water is detected under the sink or by the washing machine; with a motorised valve, the water is also shut off.
- Soft night-time path lights that switch on when motion is detected.
Technologies we use
For lighting, blinds, plugs and energy we mainly work with Shelly, which combines WiFi, Bluetooth, Zigbee and Matter and works locally. For security we use professional wireless alarms, and for climate, gateways compatible with each unit.
If you renovate in the future, what is installed can stay and be combined with a wired system in the renovated areas.
Frequently asked questions
How long does installation take?
It depends on the number of points. With no building work, the home stays usable during installation and there is no painting or debris to clear afterwards.
Can I start with a single room?
Yes. It is common to start with the living room or the blinds and expand later without replacing what is installed.
Do I need special WiFi?
You need a stable network covering the whole house. If there is not one, we improve it first or choose Zigbee or Z-Wave devices, which form their own mesh network.
