On-site and cloud backups
We design, install and monitor backups for businesses, practices and homes in Valencia: a fast local copy for instant recovery and an off-site copy, in the cloud or another location, so neither a fault, a theft nor ransomware leaves you without your data.
Domotica Valencia implements backup systems following the 3-2-1 rule: automatic backups of computers, servers, virtual machines, shared folders, Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace to a local NAS, a second copy in the cloud or another location, immutable snapshots against ransomware, failure alerts and periodic restore tests.
Who it is for
- SMEs, practices and shops
- Businesses with servers or virtual machines
- Teams using Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace
- Homes with photos and documents they cannot lose
What is included
What to protect
Computers, servers, folders, email and apps, and how long you can do without them.
Local NAS backup
Fast recovery of a file, a whole computer or a server.
Off-site copy
In the cloud or on a second NAS at another location, encrypted.
Ransomware protection
Immutable snapshots and copies that cannot be deleted from the network.
Work cloud
Backup of Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace: mail, OneDrive, SharePoint and Drive.
Monitoring and testing
Alerts if a backup fails and periodic test restores.
The 3-2-1 rule
- 3 copies of the data: the original and two copies.
- 2 different media: for example, the computer and a NAS.
- 1 copy off-site: in the cloud or at another location.
- And increasingly, 1 immutable or offline copy and 0 errors in restore tests (3-2-1-1-0).
What we protect and how
| What | How it is backed up |
|---|---|
| Work computers | Full or folder backup, automatic and with no user action. |
| Servers and virtual machines | Whole-machine backup for quick restore or boot. |
| Shared folders and NAS | Frequent snapshots and a copy to another NAS or the cloud. |
| Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace | Mail, calendars and cloud files copied to your own storage. |
| Websites and databases | Scheduled hosting backups stored off the server. |
| Home photos and documents | Phones and computers backed up to a NAS, with a second cloud copy. |
Backups that withstand ransomware
Ransomware encrypts everything it can reach on the network, including backups in an accessible folder. So we configure immutable snapshots that cannot be changed or deleted for a set period, separate backup credentials from everyday ones and keep a copy off the network.
A backup only counts if it restores
- Email alerts when a backup fails or does not run.
- Periodic test restores of files and whole machines.
- Documentation of what is backed up, where and how to recover it.
- Retention review: how many versions and for how long.
Frequently asked questions
Is a RAID disk a backup?
No. RAID protects against a drive failure, but if a file is deleted, ransomware encrypts it or the device is stolen, every drive is affected at once.
Do Microsoft 365 or Google already back up my data?
They keep the service running, but retention of what you delete or what gets encrypted in your account is limited. Your own backup lets you recover older versions and items.
Local or cloud backup?
Both. Local allows fast recovery; cloud or another site protects against fire, theft or an attack on the whole office.
