Smart vegetable garden and automatic irrigation
We automate irrigation for vegetable gardens, gardens, raised beds and small greenhouses so plants get just enough water, watering pauses when it rains and you get an alert for leaks or frost risk.
Domotica Valencia installs automatic irrigation for vegetable gardens and gardens: WiFi controller or relays, zone valves, drip lines, soil moisture probes, rain sensor or weather forecast, flow meter to detect leaks, temperature probes and phone alerts. It integrates with your home automation or runs on its own, even on plots with no fixed line.
Who it is for
- Vegetable gardens at villas and country houses
- Urban gardens on terraces or rooftops
- Raised beds, fruit trees and gardens
- School and community gardens
What is included
Irrigation zones
Valves per zone, drip or micro-sprinklers to suit the crop.
Moisture-based watering
Soil probes so watering happens only when needed.
Rain and forecast
Irrigation paused on recorded or forecast rain.
Leak alerts
Flow meter and master valve to cut the water if something is off.
Frost and heat
Temperature probes with alerts and, with a greenhouse, automatic ventilation.
App and home automation
Phone control, integrated with Home Assistant or another system.
Examples by type of garden
| Garden | What we usually install | What it achieves |
|---|---|---|
| Terrace or rooftop | Valve or pump on a WiFi relay, drip in planters, moisture probe and leak sensor | Automatic watering on holiday without flooding the terrace. |
| Villa vegetable garden | Controller or relays per zone, 24 V valves, drip, probes and rain sensor | Each zone gets what it needs, with a leak alert. |
| Garden with greenhouse | The above plus temperature and humidity probe, fan or vent opener | The greenhouse ventilates itself and warns of heat or frost. |
| Plot with no power or internet | Solar panel with battery, low-power valves, 4G router and wireless probes | Remote-controlled irrigation on an isolated plot. |
How it decides when to water
- By schedule: the simplest; best adjusted by season.
- By schedule with rain or forecast: watering is skipped if it has rained or rain is due.
- By soil moisture: the probe shows when the soil has dried and watering starts only then, with limits to avoid overwatering if the probe fails.
Typical devices
We work with connected irrigation controllers, WiFi relays such as Shelly’s, standard garden valves, wireless moisture probes and flow meters. If you already have home automation, irrigation joins it; if not, it can run on its own with its app. We always check that valve and relay voltages are compatible.
Frequently asked questions
Can I keep my existing controller?
It depends on the model. Sometimes its outputs can be wired to controllable relays; sometimes replacing it pays off. We assess it on the visit.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. Schedules and basic rules are stored on the local device; internet is only needed for remote control, forecasts and alerts.
How much water does it save?
It depends on the garden, the soil and how you water now. What it does avoid is watering in the rain, overwatering and undetected leaks; we check it by measuring consumption before and after.

Automatic irrigation for vegetable gardens and gardens
Good automatic irrigation is not just a timer: it separates zones with different needs, stops watering when it rains and alerts you when something leaks.

Fertigation delivers nutrients with irrigation water. Automating it keeps the solution stable and records what was applied, provided the probes are looked after.
