IoT installation and custom projects
We design and install custom IoT projects in Valencia: we choose the right sensors and communication protocol, set up the platform that collects and displays the data — such as ThingsBoard — and connect it to the rest of your company’s or building’s systems.
Domotica Valencia builds Internet of Things projects for businesses, buildings and facilities: selection and installation of sensors, actuators and gateways; communications over WiFi, Ethernet, Zigbee, Thread, LoRaWAN, NB-IoT, Modbus, BACnet, KNX or MQTT; platforms such as ThingsBoard, Node-RED, Home Assistant or Grafana; custom dashboards, alerts, automated rules and integrations.
Who it is for
- Companies wanting to measure and control processes or consumption
- Buildings, warehouses and sites with dispersed installations
- Integrators and manufacturers needing their own platform
- Projects that do not fit an off-the-shelf product
What is included
Analysis and pilot
What to measure, how precisely and how often; a small-scale trial before roll-out.
Devices
Sensors, actuators, meters and gateways suited to each environment.
Communications
The right protocol and network for range, power and coverage.
Platform
ThingsBoard or other platforms, on your server or in the cloud.
Dashboards and alerts
Custom visualisation, email, mobile or messaging alerts and automated rules.
Integration and support
Links to ERP, automation, BMS or APIs; maintenance and expansion.
Communication protocols
| Protocol | Characteristics | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| WiFi and Ethernet (PoE) | High bandwidth; existing cable or wireless network. | Powered devices, cameras, gateways. |
| Zigbee, Z-Wave, Thread and Matter | Low-power, short-range mesh networks. | Sensors and actuators in homes, offices and hotels. |
| Bluetooth LE | Very low power, short range. | Beacons, wearable sensors, local setup. |
| LoRaWAN | Long range, very low power; small payloads. | Fields, warehouses, meters and dispersed battery sensors. |
| NB-IoT and LTE-M | Low-power cellular, no own gateway. | Isolated equipment with operator coverage. |
| Modbus, BACnet and KNX | Industrial and building protocols. | Meters, HVAC, panels and existing automation. |
| MQTT and HTTP | Messaging between devices, gateways and platform. | Sending data to the platform and integrating other systems. |
Platforms we implement
| Platform | What for |
|---|---|
| ThingsBoard | Device management, telemetry, rule engine, alarms and dashboards. Open-source platform that can be self-hosted. |
| Node-RED | Integration flows and logic between devices, APIs and databases. |
| Home Assistant | Integrating multi-vendor devices in homes and small businesses. |
| ChirpStack | Open-source LoRaWAN network server for private networks. |
| InfluxDB and Grafana | Time-series storage and analysis dashboards. |
| MQTT brokers | Mosquitto, EMQX or others, depending on device volume. |
How we run a custom project
- We define the goal: which decision or automation the data must enable.
- We pilot the sensor, protocol and coverage on the real site.
- We design the architecture: devices, gateways, network, platform and security.
- We deploy, document and train the people who will use the system.
- We review the data and fine-tune alerts and rules as it is used.
Security and data ownership
Data can stay on a company server or with an EU host. We isolate the device network, encrypt communications leaving the building and document credentials and access so the system does not depend on a single person.
Frequently asked questions
What is ThingsBoard?
An open-source IoT platform to connect devices, collect telemetry, build dashboards and define rules and alarms. It can be self-hosted, without depending on a third-party cloud service.
Which protocol do I need?
It depends on range, power and data volume. Battery sensors across a warehouse or field often suit LoRaWAN; inside a building, Zigbee or Thread; for existing industrial equipment, Modbus or BACnet. We validate it with a pilot.
Can you integrate sensors I already have?
Often yes, if they use a documented protocol or have a data output. We review them before proposing new equipment.
