How to automate a padel club

A padel club can run much of the day without anyone at reception if access and lighting are handled automatically from bookings.

Domotica Valencia · Updated:

In short

Automating a padel club means access and each court’s lighting depend on bookings: players get access valid only in their slot and their court lights come on at the start and go off at the end. It uses locks or motorised doors, relays per court and a controller connected to the booking platform, if it allows, or synced with it.

Steps

  • Review the lighting electrics: one circuit or contactor per court.
  • Choose the access system: a lock at the entrance and, if wanted, on each court.
  • Check what integration the club’s booking platform offers.
  • Define margins: minutes of light and access before and after each booking.
  • Set up manual control and alerts for the manager.

Benefits

  • Fewer reception hours and trips to open up or switch on.
  • No court lit without a booking: lower electricity bills.
  • A log of who enters and when.
  • A better experience for players, who walk in and play without waiting.

Frequently asked questions

What if someone plays without booking?

Without a booking there is no access or light. Common-area cameras also let you review any incident.

Can it be done on residential estate courts?

Yes. It is common in communities: residents book and enter by phone, and the community controls lighting costs.
